Dr.
Gerardo Ungson's professorship at University of Oregon
dates back to 1978. He is also the Y.F. Chang Endowed
Professor of International Business at San Francisco
State University. He has been a visiting professor at
the University of California, Berkeley; the Amos Tuck
School of Business; Dartmouth University;
International University of Japan; and Nijenrode, the
Netherlands School of Business. He also serves on the
Supervisory
Board of SIOO, an
inter-university center
for development in organization and change management.
Professor
Ungson
researches and publishes in several areas of study,
including global strategic management and
organizational theory, with a focus on the Pacific
Rim. His recent research projects include a look at
Asian entrepreneurship, the timing of U.S. Fortune 500
companies entering the Chinese market, the coming
challenges for Korean industry, and the relationship
between technology and global strategies. He has
consulted with several companies from Silicon Valley,
Oregon, and he serves as a retainer for a
multinational company in Kuwait.
